Alex Rodriguez était visiblement mal à l'aise au gala du Met 2019 à New York lundi. Alex a déclaré aux journalistes qu'il n'était pas content de porter du rose au Met Gala.

Reconnaissant qu'il était "à mille pour cent" un accessoire de la fiancée Jennifer Lopez lors de la grande soirée de la mode, il s'est excusé à plusieurs reprises auprès de photographes pour avoir bloqué les photos de Jennifer. "C'était vraiment amusant (mais) as-tu vu à quel point mon smoking était affreux?" Il a demandé. "C'était comme, rose!"

La star du baseball à la retraite se méfie sans aucun doute des efforts déployés par l'industrie du divertissement pour sous-estimer la masculinité chez les hommes - et il ne veut pas en faire partie.

A-Rod dit qu'il comprend parfaitement pourquoi J.Lo commande l'attention qu'elle mérite. Il était impressionné par son énergie et son endurance après sa performance énergique lors de l'émission Today Show quelques heures plus tôt.

"Le spectacle de lundi était fou ... j'étais à la maison en train de regarder et ... je devais dormir parce que je suis rentré la nuit précédente à trois heures du matin, mais elle a eu quatre ou cinq changements de tenues (à si peu de temps) - J'étais fatigué de la regarder! "

Jennifer a déclaré: "Quand elle est rentrée à la maison, elle était tellement fatiguée qu'elle s'est littéralement effondrée et a juste dormi pendant cinq heures environ."

Admitting he was "one thousand per cent" an accessory for fiancee Jennifer Lopez at fashion's big night, he repeatedly apologized to photogs for blocking shots of Jennifer. "I was trying to get out of the way. Honestly, the photographers are like, 'Get out of the way, A-Rod! Get out of the way!' I'm like, 'I'm sorry!'"

The former New York Yankees star insists he was happy to move out of the way because he was embarrassed to be photographed in his dusty pink tuxedo jacket.

"It was really fun (but) did you see how awful my tux was?" he asked. "It was like, pink!"

The retired baseball star is no doubt wary of the entertainment industry's efforts to de-emphasize masculinity in men - and he wants no part of that.

A-Rod says he fully understands why J.Lo commands the amount of attention she does. He was in awe of her energy and stamina after her high-energy performance for the Today Show hours earlier.

"The show on Monday was crazy... I was at home watching and... I was supposed to be sleeping because I got in the night before at like, three in the morning, but she had four or five outfit changes (in such a short space of time) - I was tired watching her!"

He said the gig took its toll on Jennifer: "When she got home, she was so tired, she literally collapsed and just slept for like, five hours."
