Au cours de sa dernière apparition publique, Saweetie a évoqué les images d’une autre star du R & B à succès.

Le rappeur américain a attiré l'attention dans une robe en maille révélatrice après avoir parlé à la passerelle pour son Show PrettyLittleThing x Saweetie à la Fashion Week de New York dimanche soir.

Exposant pleinement sa lingerie noire, la tenue saisissante n’a laissé aucune fantaisie alors que la star de la Californie, âgée de 26 ans, a joué devant des invités prestigieux, dont Paris Hilton, sa soeur Nicky Hilton Rothschild et Offset.

Mais alors que la nuit lui appartenait, la robe faisait des comparaisons instantanées avec le célèbre ensemble porté par Rihanna lors des CFDA Fashion Icon Awards de 2014.

La chanteuse des Bajan a émerveillé les spectateurs avec sa robe Adam Selman ornée de cristaux Swarovski et ses gants assortis après avoir défilé sur le tapis rouge de la salle Alice Tully Hall de New York.

Pour canaliser le glamour hollywoodien à l'ancienne, le vrai sujet de conversation de la société était son design épuré, un détail essentiel qui a permis à Rihanna de conquérir le devant de la scène.

S'adressant à Vogue deux ans après avoir porté la robe, la chanteuse a admis qu'elle regrettait sa décision de la porter sans sous-vêtements.

«J'ai simplement aimé mieux sans les lignes en dessous», a-t-elle expliqué. 'Pouvez-vous imaginer la CFDA s'habiller avec un soutien-gorge? Je trancherais ma gorge.

«Je le voulais déjà, car je portais un string qui n'était pas ébloui. C'est le seul regret que j'ai dans ma vie.

 Cependant, aucun regret de ce type n’a été observé dimanche, Saweetie ayant affiché un écran en bronze tout en faisant la promotion de sa dernière gamme avec PrettyLittleThing.

En juillet, la rappeuse a confirmé sa relation avec le beau rappeur Quavo après des mois de spéculation de la part de fans dévoués.

Des rumeurs ont commencé à circuler selon lesquelles Saweetie fréquentait Quavo l'été dernier après qu'elle ait joué le rôle de son intérêt amoureux dans la vidéo de Workin Me.

Le couple a récemment collaboré sur son single Emotional, et Saweetie a révélé comment elle avait réussi à mêler son travail et sa vie personnelle.

Elle a déclaré à Vulture: «En fin de journée, mon objectif est de produire de la bonne musique. Qu’il s’agisse de mon petit ami ou non, j’aurais tout de même voulu le voir dans la chanson après avoir entendu son couplet.

'Je peux parfois trop penser à des choses et c'est l'une des raisons pour lesquelles je ne voulais pas de lui à l'origine dans cette chanson. Mais oublie ça. Si nous voulons faire de la bonne musique, nous allons faire de la bonne musique.

"Et nous avons une excellente chimie dans le studio, donc ce n’est que juste de le diffuser."

The American rapper commanded attention in a revealing sheer mesh dress after talking to the catwalk for her PrettyLittleThing x Saweetie Show at New York Fashion Week on Sunday evening.

Fully exposing her black lingerie, the striking outfit left nothing to the imagination as the California based star, 26, performed for A-list guests including Paris Hilton, sister Nicky Hilton Rothschild and Offset.

But while the night belonged to her, the dress drew instant comparisons to the notorious sheer ensemble worn by Rihanna at the 2014 CFDA Fashion Icon Awards.

The Bajan singer stunned onlookers with her Swarovski crystal embellished Adam Selman dress and matching gloves after taking to the red carpet at New York’s Alice Tully Hall. 

Channeling old school Hollywood glamour, the outfit's real talking point was its form-fitting sheer design, a key detail that ensured Rihanna claimed the spotlight. 

Speaking to Vogue two-years after wearing the dress, the singer admitted she harboured regrets over her decision to wear it without underwear. 

'I just liked it better without the lines underneath,' she explained. 'Could you imagine the CFDA dress with a bra? I would slice my throat. 

'I already wanted to, for wearing a thong that wasn't bedazzled. That's the only regret I have in my life.' 

 However there were no such regrets on Sunday, with Saweetie putting on a brazen display while promoting her latest range with PrettyLittleThing.

In July the rapper confirmed her relationship with handsome rapper Quavo after months of speculation from devoted fans.

Rumours began circulating that Saweetie was dating Quavo last summer after she played the role of his love interest in the video for Workin Me.

The couple recently collaborated on her single, Emotional, and Saweetie revealed how she came about mixing her business and personal life. 

She told Vulture: 'At the end of the day, my goal is to put out good music. Whether he’s my boyfriend or if he wasn’t, I would’ve still wanted him on the song after I heard his verse.

'I can overthink things sometimes and that was one of the reasons why I originally didn’t want him on the song. But, forget it. If we’re gonna make good music, we’re gonna make good music.

'And we have great chemistry in the studio so it’s only right to put this out.'
