Football : Madagascar annule aussi sa rencontre avec l'Afrique du Sud

Dur dur pour l’Afrique du Sud de trouver un adversaire dans le cadre des préparatifs pour les éliminatoires du Mondial 2022. Après la Zambie, c’est Madagascar qui vient de se raviser.

Tout était pourtant presque prêt. L‘équipe nationale d’Afrique du Sud devait accueillir sur sa pelouse du stade Orlando de Soweto (Johannesburg) les Bareas de Madagascar pour un match amical ce samedi. Mais, à moins de 48h de l‘échéance, la fédération malgache de football a annulé sa participation « sans en préciser la raison », indique un communiqué de la fédération sud-africaine de football sur son compte Twitter.

Ce retrait est un sérieux revers pour la fédération sud-africaine de football après le désengagement de la Zambie qui a refusé d’accueillir les Bafana Bafana à Lusaka pour le match de samedi. Les Zambiens protestent ainsi contre les violences xénophobes qui ont éclaté en Afrique du Sud dimanche, ciblant de nombreux migrants africains. Ces violences ont déjà fait 10 morts selon un dernier bilan communiqué par le chef de l’Etat Cyril Ramaphosa.

La fédération sud-africaine espérait pourtant profiter de ce match amical pour promouvoir l’amour, la paix et la solidarité. Un message du coach Molefi Ntseki publié sur Twitter appelait notamment les supporters à venir massivement au stade pour communier avec leurs « frères et sœurs africains ». Des billets avaient été même distribués gratuitement aux supporters.

Tickets had even been distributed free of charge to supporters.
