Reprise prévue dimanche au Soudan des discussions sur la transition

Les discussions entre le Conseil militaire au pouvoir au Soudan et les leaders de la contestations doivent reprendre dimanche à Khartoum où des centaines d’islamistes manifestent samedi contre un abandon éventuel de la charia.

L’armée a annoncé la “reprise dimanche des discussions avec l’ALC au palais présidentiel”.

Les militaires au pouvoir avaient suspendu mercredi soir le dialogue avec les meneurs de la contestation au sujet de la transition politique en réclamant la levée des barricades installées par les protestataires à Khartoum.
Des manifestants les ont démantelées vendredi mais ont menacé de les rétablir si les généraux ne reprenaient pas les négociations.

A leur tête, le commandant Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo connu sous le nom de Hemetti, numéro deux du Conseil militaire qui encadre le sit-in des manifestants…
Samedi soir, au cours d’une conférence de presse, Hemetti s’est prononcé pour un régime civil.

Les deux parties doivent désormais s’entendre sur la composition d’un Conseil souverain, institution-clé de la transition. Les militaires veulent qu’il comprenne une majorité des leurs tandis que l’ALC exige qu’elle soit dominée par les civils.

La communauté internationale appelle à une “reprise immédiate des pourparlers” pour parvenir à une transition “vraiment dirigée par les civils”, a déclaré vendredi sur Twitter un haut responsable américain au terme d’une réunion à Washington.

The talks between the ruling Military Council in Sudan and the leaders of the protests will resume Sunday in Khartoum where hundreds of Islamists demonstrate Saturday against a possible abandonment of sharia law.

The international community is calling for an "immediate resumption of talks" to achieve a "truly civilian-led" transition, a senior US official said Friday after a meeting in Washington.
