Combien coûteront les obsèques d’Etienne Tshisekedi ? La question fait débat en République démocratique du Congo alors que la dépouille de l’opposant historique et père de l’actuel président congolais est attendue ce jeudi à Kinshasa, la capitale, plus de 2 ans après sa mort en Belgique.

Pour honorer la mémoire du sphinx de Limeté, il faudra mobiliser 2 à 6 millions de dollars selon le comité d’organisation des obsèques. Pour ses responsables, la somme est comprise dans la fourchette du financement des obsèques des personnalités en RDC.

Le comité brandit aussi le rôle joué par l’ancien Premier ministre notamment en matière de lutte pour l’instauration de la démocratie en RDC afin de justifier la nécessité de l’inhumer avec tous les honneurs dus à son rang.

Pas suffisant pour éviter la contestation. Des organisations de la société civile comme la Lucha dénoncent de lourdes dépenses alors que la RDC connaît une situation économique morose.

Et de rappeler qu’en pareille circonstance, Etienne Tshisekedi aurait donné la priorité au peuple, plutôt qu‘à des obsèques en or dont la seule retransmission à la télévision coûterait 52 000 dollars.
