Baby Sussex est là! Le prince Harry révèle qu'il est "absolument ravi" après que Meghan ait accouché chez lui d'un garçon de 3 kg à 5h26 - et dit qu'il est "incroyablement fier" de sa femme et que son fils est "absolument à tomber par terre!"

La duchesse de Sussex a donné naissance à un petit garçon en bonne santé aujourd'hui, ce qui a poussé le fier père, le nouveau-né, le prince Harry, à lui dire que la «petite chose est absolument à tomber par terre».

Meghan a accouché dans les premières heures de ce matin et a donné naissance à 5h26, à un garçon pesant 7 livres 3 oz, retard de plus d'une semaine.

Venant de Windsor, le prince Harry, visiblement excité, a partagé son immense fierté en plaisantant de ne dormir que deux heures la nuit dernière, avant de qualifier cette naissance d’expérience la plus incroyable que j’ai jamais pu imaginer.

Dans une déclaration peu de temps après l'annonce de la naissance, Buckingham Palace a déclaré que Meghan et son bébé se portaient bien, et que la reine et d'autres membres de la famille royale étaient "ravis" de cette nouvelle.

Meghan se remet actuellement à Frogmore Cottage, la maison du couple située dans l'enceinte du château de Windsor, et l'attention se tourne maintenant vers le nom du bébé, qu'Harry a évoqué comme étant "le prochain" de sa nouvelle parentalité.

Révélant qu'il était «incroyablement fier» de son épouse, un prince ravi, Harry, a déclaré: «Mère et bébé vont incroyablement bien.

'C'était incroyable, alors nous voulions simplement partager cela avec tout le monde.'

"La façon dont une femme fait ce qu'elle fait dépasse l'entendement, mais nous sommes tous les deux absolument ravis et reconnaissants de tout l'amour et du soutien de tout le monde."

Lorsqu'on leur a demandé s'ils avaient encore des noms, il a répondu: «Je pense toujours aux noms.

«Le bébé est un peu en retard, nous avons donc eu un peu de temps pour y réfléchir.

'C'est la partie suivante, mais pour nous, je pense que nous vous verrons probablement dans deux jours, comme prévu en famille, pour pouvoir la partager avec vous afin que tout le monde puisse voir le bébé.'

Quand on lui a demandé ce que c'était que d'être présent à la naissance, il a ri et a dit: 'Je ne suis pas allé à beaucoup de naissances.

'C'est définitivement ma première naissance. C'était incroyable, absolument incroyable et, comme je l'ai dit, je suis incroyablement fier de ma femme.

"Comme tous les pères et parents le diront jamais, vous savez, votre bébé est absolument fantastique, mais cette petite chose est absolument à mourir de joie, alors je suis tout simplement fou."

Il a également révélé que la mère de la duchesse, Doria Ragland, était actuellement aux côtés de sa fille à Frogmore Cottage, suggérant que Meghan avait accouché à la maison.

On ignore actuellement si le duc ou la duchesse a parlé au père de Meghan, Thomas Markle Snr, depuis sa naissance, après qu'elle ait apparemment coupé les liens avec la femme de 74 ans à la suite d'une série d'embarras envers le public l'année dernière.

Le Buckingham Palace a officiellement annoncé une longue liste de membres de la famille royale ravis de l'annonce de leur naissance, parmi lesquels la reine et le prince Philip, le prince Charles et Camilla, ainsi que William et Kate.

L’annonce a également révélé que la mère de Meghan, Doria, était ravie, mais son père, Thomas, était manifestement absent des personnes nommées.

Le sexe du bébé était une surprise pour le duc et la duchesse, qui avaient choisi de ne pas savoir ce qu'ils avaient avant la naissance.

Le fils de Harry et Meghan occupe désormais le septième rang sur le trône, derrière son père, le prince Harry, dans la ligne de succession et heurte son oncle, le duc d'York, à la huitième place.

Mais on ne donnera pas à l'enfant le titre de prince et il sera connu sous le nom de comte de Dumbarton.

Le bébé devrait prendre le nom de famille Sussex à l’école ou à la crèche de la même manière que les enfants de William et Kate, George, Charlotte et Louis, prenant «Cambridge».

Le prince Harry a été contraint d'annuler une partie d'un voyage prévu aux Pays-Bas cette semaine, alors que des rumeurs disaient que le premier bébé de Meghan était attendu depuis la fin de semaine dernière.

Harry devrait toujours s'engager à La Haye le 9 mai pour lancer le compte à rebours d'un an avant les Jeux Invictus, son événement de style paralympique pour le personnel militaire blessé.

The Duchess of Sussex has given birth to a healthy baby boy today, prompting the newborn's proud father Prince Harry to gush that the 'little thing is absolutely to-die-for'.

Meghan went into labour in the early hours of this morning and gave birth at 5.26am to a boy weighing 7lbs 3oz, having been more than a week overdue.

Speaking from Windsor, a visibly-excited Prince Harry shared his immense pride as he joked of getting just two hours' sleep last night, before calling the birth 'the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined'.

In a statement shortly after the birth was announced, Buckingham Palace said Meghan and her baby were 'both doing well', and that the Queen and other members of the royal family were 'delighted' with the news.

Meghan is now recovering at Frogmore Cottage, the couple's home set within the grounds of Windsor Castle, with attentions now turning to the baby's name, which Harry referred to 'the next bit' of his newfound parenthood.

Revealing that he was 'incredibly proud' of his wife, an overjoyed Prince Harry said: 'Mother and baby are doing incredibly well.

'It's been amazing, so we just wanted to share this with everybody.'

'How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension, but we're both absolutely thrilled and so grateful to all the love and support from everybody out there.'

Asked if they had any names yet, he said: 'Still thinking about names.

'The baby is a little bit overdue, so we've had a little bit of time to think about it.

'That's the next bit, but for us I think we will be seeing you guys in probably two days' time as planned as a family to be able to share it with you guys and so everyone can see the baby.'

Asked what it was like to be present for the birth, he laughed and said: 'I haven't been at many births.

'This is definitely my first birth. It was amazing, absolutely incredible, and, as I said, I'm so incredibly proud of my wife.

'As every father and parent will ever say, you know, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to-die-for, so I'm just over the moon.' 

It also revealed the duchess' mother Doria Ragland is currently by her daughter's side at Frogmore Cottage, suggesting that Meghan had undergone a home birth. 

It is currently unknown if the duke or duchess have spoken to Meghan's father Thomas Markle Snr since the birth, after she seemingly cut ties with the 74-year-old following a series of public embarrassments last year. 

A formal announcement released by Buckingham Palace included a long list of members of the Royal Family who were 'delighted' at the news of the birth, including the Queen and Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Camilla, and William and Kate.

The announcement also namechecked Meghan's mother Doria, who was said to be 'overjoyed' - but her father Thomas was conspicuously absent from those named.

The baby's sex was a surprise for the duke and duchess, who had chosen not to find out what they are having until after the birth.

Harry and Meghan's son is now the seventh in line to the throne, behind his father Prince Harry in the line of succession and bumping his uncle, the Duke of York, further down the line into eighth place.

But the child will not be given the title of prince and he will instead be known as the Earl of Dumbarton.

The baby boy is expected to take the surname Sussex for school or nursery in the same way as William and Kate's children, George, Charlotte and Louis, taking 'Cambridge'.  

Prince Harry was forced to cancel part of a planned trip to the Netherlands this week amid rumours that Meghan's first baby was due as long ago as last weekend.

Harry is still expected to carry out an engagement at The Hague on May 9 to launch the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games, his Paralympic-style event for injured service personnel.
