RDC : l'opposant Martin Fayulu appelle à la démission de Tshisekedi

L’opposant congolais Martin Fayulu a appelé dimanche à la démission du président Félix Tshisekedi, lors d’un meeting à Kinshasa.

Réunis place sainte Thérèse dans la commune populaire de Ndjili (est), les manifestants sont venus écouter Martin Fayulu qui revenait de Bruxelles au lendemain d’une réunion des leaders de la coalition Lamuka, qui avait soutenu sa candidature à la présidentielle du 30 décembre.

“Cette fois-ci, nous sommes rentrés pour demander et obtenir la démission de Félix Tshisekedi. Il a fait la honte, il a vendu le pays”, a déclaré Martin Fayulu devant plusieurs milliers de ses partisans, en présence des forces de l’ordre.

“N’attendez plus un mot d’ordre (…). Vous, peuple, vous êtes plus fort que n’importe quelle armée au monde. Au Soudan et en Algérie, le peuple a obtenu le départ des dirigeants. Ici, on doit faire la même chose contre Kabila et Tshisekedi”, a-t-il ajouté.

A l’issue du scrutin, un autre opposant, Félix Tshisekedi, a été proclamé vainqueur. Mais M. Fayulu, revendique toujours la victoire avec 60% des voix.

Samedi à Bruxelles, au terme d’une réunion de deux jours, les six leaders de Lamuka (Martin Fayulu, Moïse Katumbi, Freddy Matungulu, Jean-Pierre Bemba, Adolphe Muzito et Antipas Mbusa Nyamwisi) ont réaffirmé leur “unité” et ont annoncé la transformation de la coalition électorale Lamuka en “plateforme politique”, avec une présidence tournante pour une durée de trois mois.

La première présidence sera assurée par Moïse Katumbi. Allié puis adversaire de l’ex-président Joseph Kabila, l’ex-gouverneur du Katanga minier était poursuivi depuis 2016 dans une affaire de spoliation immobilière dont il niait tout fondement.

Il avait quitté la RDC en mai 2016 pour l’Afrique du Sud puis la Belgique, pour des raisons de santé. Il avait été ensuite condamné un mois plus tard à trois ans de prison.

Riche homme d’affaires, patron du TP Mazembe de Lubumbashi, gloire du football africain, M. Katumbi avait finalement soutenu et financé la campagne de l’opposant Martin Fayulu. Le 19 avril, la justice congolaise a annulé sa condamnation.

Investi le 24 janvier, le président Tshisekedi n’a ni nommé de Premier ministre ni de gouvernement. Il est lié par un accord politique à son prédécesseur, Joseph Kabila, dont la coalition du Front commun pour le Congo (FCC) a conservé la majorité absolue à l’Assemblée nationale, au Sénat et dans les gouvernorat des provinces.

Congolese opposition leader Martin Fayulu on Sunday called for the resignation of President Felix Tshisekedi at a rally in Kinshasa.

Meeting in Saint Thérèse Square in the popular commune of Ndjili (east), the demonstrators came to listen to Martin Fayulu who was returning from Brussels the day after a meeting of the leaders of the Lamuka coalition, which had supported his candidacy for the presidential election on December 30th.

"This time we came back to ask for and get the resignation of Felix Tshisekedi. He was ashamed, he sold the country, "said Martin Fayulu in front of several thousand of his supporters, in the presence of law enforcement.

"Do not wait for a slogan (...). You, people, are stronger than any army in the world. In Sudan and Algeria, the people got the departure of the leaders. Here, we must do the same against Kabila and Tshisekedi, "he added.

At the end of the vote, another opponent, Felix Tshisekedi, was declared the winner. But Mr Fayulu, still claims victory with 60% of the votes.

On Saturday in Brussels, after a two-day meeting, the six leaders of Lamuka (Martin Fayulu, Moise Katumbi, Freddy Matungulu, Jean-Pierre Bemba, Adolphe Muzito and Antipas Mbusa Nyamwisi) reaffirmed their "unity" and announced the transformation of the Lamuka electoral coalition into a "political platform", with a rotating presidency for a period of three months.

The first presidency will be provided by Moses Katumbi. Ally and then opponent of former president Joseph Kabila, the former governor of mining Katanga had been prosecuted since 2016 in a real estate spoliation case he denied any foundation.

He left the DRC in May 2016 for South Africa then Belgium, for health reasons. He was then sentenced one month later to three years in prison.

Rich businessman, boss of TP Mazembe of Lubumbashi, glory of the African football, Mr. Katumbi had finally supported and financed the campaign of the opponent Martin Fayulu. On April 19, Congolese justice canceled his sentence.

Invested on January 24, President Tshisekedi did not appoint a prime minister or government. He is bound by a political agreement to his predecessor, Joseph Kabila, whose coalition of the Common Front for Congo (FCC) has retained an absolute majority in the National Assembly, the Senate and the governorates of the provinces.
