La reine a été la première personne à rendre visite au duc et à la duchesse de Sussex dans leur nouvelle maison, a-t-on affirmé.

Le monarque, 93 ans, aurait passé du temps avec le couple à Frogmore Cottage tout en restant au château de Windsor à proximité pendant le week-end de Pâques.

Meghan, 37 ans, et Harry, 34 ans, doivent accueillir leur premier enfant dans les prochains jours. La reine voulait voir le couple avant la naissance, a déclaré une source au Sun.

L'histoire vient après des informations séparées selon lesquelles le duc et la duchesse de Cambridge ont également rendu visite à Frogmore Cottage après le service religieux du dimanche de Pâques à la chapelle St George, au château de Windsor.

Le duc de Sussex a assisté à la cérémonie aux côtés d'autres membres de la famille royale, mais la très enceinte Meghan est restée à la maison.

Une source a déclaré à Harper's Bazaar: «William et Catherine ont rendu visite à Meghan parce qu'elle était dans l'impossibilité d'assister à la cérémonie. Ils voulaient être solidaires et voir comment elle allait. C'était une belle après-midi.

Il est possible que la reine ait rejoint le duc et la duchesse lors de cette même visite. Buckingham Palace a refusé de commenter car il s'agit d'une visite privée.

Harry et Meghan ont emménagé au Frogmore Cottage, dans le domaine de Windsor, au début du mois, à la suite de travaux de rénovation de grande envergure.

Le couple est maintenant «installé» avant la naissance de son premier enfant.

Ils auraient créé une pépinière «neutre du point de vue du genre» et installé un studio de yoga pour permettre à Meghan, passionnée, de pratiquer à la maison.

The Queen was the first person to visit the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in their new home, it is claimed. 

The monarch, 93, reportedly spent time with the couple at Frogmore Cottage while staying at nearby Windsor Castle over Easter Weekend. 

Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, are due to welcome their first child in the coming days and the Queen wanted to see the couple before the birth, a source told the Sun. 

'The Queen was at Windsor Castle at Easter and wanted to see Meghan before she has the baby.' 

The story comes following separate reports that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also paid a visit to Frogmore Cottage following the Easter Sunday church service at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.

The Duke of Sussex attended the service alongside other senior royals but the heavily pregnant Meghan stayed at home. 

A source told Harper's Bazaar: 'William and Catherine visited because Meghan was unable to attend the service. They wanted to be supportive and see how she is doing. It was a lovely afternoon.'

It is possible the Queen joined the Duke and Duchess on this same visit. Buckingham Palace declined to comment as it concerns a private visit. 

Harry and Meghan moved into Frogmore Cottage, on the Windsor estate, at the start of the month following extensive renovation work. 

The couple are now 'settled in' ahead of the birth of their first child. 

They are said to have created a 'gender neutral' nursery and installed a yoga studio to allow enthusiast Meghan to practise at home.
