Le chef de l’Etat comorien sortant, Azali Assoumani, a été réélu dès le premier tour de l‘élection présidentielle avec 60,77% des suffrages, selon des résultats annoncés mardi soir par la Commission électorale (Ceni).

Azali Assoumani, au pouvoir depuis 2016, a très largement devancé son principal adversaire, Mahamoudou Ahamada, du parti Juwa, qui a obtenu 14,62% des suffrages, a ajouté le président de la Ceni, Djaza Ahmed Mohamed, devant la presse à Moroni.

Interrogé par l’AFP, Mahamoudou Ahamada a immédiatement “rejeté les résultats”, dénonçant “un coup d’Etat militaire à travers une élection présidentielle”.

Il a appelé “la communauté internationale à ne jamais reconnaître la réélection d’Azali”.

L’opposition et la société civile comoriennes ont dressé un bilan accablant du scrutin organisé dimanche, dénonçant des bureaux saccagés, des urnes bourrées ou confisquées par la gendarmerie et des assesseurs de l’opposition empêchés de faire leur travail.
