Le boxeur américain à la retraite, Floyd Mayweather, a révélé qu'il gagnerait environ 80 millions de dollars des combats d'exposition en 2019.

Le joueur de 41 ans a eu une carrière de boxeur en acier inoxydable après avoir enregistré 50 victoires sur 50 combats - dont 27 en KO.

Mayweather organisera une compétition de boxe au Japon en juillet après avoir affronté Tenshin Nasukawa la veille du Nouvel An.

L’argenterie, comme on le surnomme affectueusement, a gagné 9 millions de dollars en un peu plus de deux minutes à cette occasion et devrait engranger encore plus au cours des 12 prochains mois.

Daily Mail rapporte cependant que le promoteur devenu boxeur a évité toute discussion sur une reprise du combat contre Manny Pacquiao, mais a confié à TMZ: "Les fans veulent savoir ce qui se passe."

Il a déclaré: «Je ne suis pas ici pour parler de la boxe pour le moment. Je vis ma vie, je mange tellement bien, il y a tant d’investissements intelligents qui ne peuvent pas m’arrêter.

«J'ai eu des expositions, j'en ai eu une autre au Japon en juillet. Dans les seules expositions, je gagnerai environ 80 millions de dollars cette année.

«Je n’ai pas à faire la vraie chose, je suis la vraie. J'ai fait mes preuves. Il s’agit d’être intelligent. Mes facultés sont très importantes. ”

Mayweather a négocié lui-même un jour de paie de 100 millions de dollars (78 millions de livres) contre Conor McGregor en août 2017, avant de gagner 9 millions de dollars (7 millions de livres) lors d'une folle exposition contre Nasukawa au Japon.

Il travaille actuellement en tant que promoteur pour le futur combattant Gervonta Davis - à qui Mayweather veut combattre Nasukawa en avril dans une autre exposition - mais il pourrait encore avoir un autre combat à lui seul en lui.

Retired American boxer Floyd Mayweather has revealed he will earn about $80 million from exhibition fights in 2019.

The 41-year-old had a stainless boxing career after recording 50 wins out of 50 bouts – 27 of them on knockouts.

Mayweather has a boxing events lined up for him in Japan this July after facing Tenshin Nasukawa on New Year’s Eve.

The ‘money-man’ as he is fondly referred to made $9m in just over two minutes on that occasion and is set to rake in even more over the next 12 months.

Daily Mail however reports that the boxer-turned promoter has avoided every talk of a re-fight against Manny Pacquiao, but admitted to TMZ, “The fans want to know what’s going on.”

He said: “I’m not here to talk about boxing right now. I’m living life, I’m eating so good, so many smart investments, dam’n they can’t stop me.

“I got exhibitions, I got another one in Japan in July. In exhibitions alone I’ll make about $80m this year .

“I don’t have to do the real thing, I am the real thing. I’ve proved myself. It’s all about being smart. My faculties are very important. ”

Mayweather negotiated himself a $100m (£78m) pay-day against Conor McGregor in August 2017 before earning $9m (£7m) in a farcical exhibition bout against Nasukawa in Japan.

He currently works as a promoter for upcoming fighter Gervonta Davis – who Mayweather wants to fight Nasukawa in April in another exhibition – but he may yet have another bout of his own left in him.
