Maroc: un bébé vivant retrouvé dans une morgue

Un drame a été évité de peu, dans l’un des hôpitaux publics de Rabat au Maroc. Un bébé a failli être enterré vivant par erreur médicale. C’est la deuxième bourde médicale dans la ville après le scandale des nouveaux-nés vaccinés par erreur.

Selon les informations rapportées par ActuMaroc, un couple de jeunes marocains ont demandé à voir leur nouveau-né admis en crèche, mais à la place du bébé, c’est un acte de décès qui leur a été remis. Et pour cause, une complication survenue quelques heures plus tôt aurait été fatale pour l’enfant.

La mort dans l’âme, la famille a entreprit les démarches nécessaires afin de retirer le corps de la morgue et l’enterrer selon la coutume. Mais à leur grand étonnement, ils ont constaté que l’enfant respirait encore. L’enfant a alors été reconduit en soin intensif. Les explications fournies par les responsables de ce service n’ont guère convaincues la famille qui a porté plainte. Des poursuites seront engagées avec l’appui de témoignages de membres du personnel qui ont affirmé que le nouveau-né avait été victime de graves négligences de la part d’un pédiatre.

Ces cas sont récurrents au Maroc, surtout dans les hôpitaux publics de Rabat. Le scandale des nouveaux-nés vaccinés par erreur dans une maternité avait provoqué un tollé dans tout le pays.

A tragedy was narrowly avoided in one of Rabat's public hospitals in Morocco. A baby was nearly buried alive by medical mistake. This is the second medical blunder in the city after the scandal of newborns vaccinated by mistake.

According to information reported by ActuMorocco, a couple of young Moroccans asked to see their newborn admitted to a nursery, but instead of the baby, it is an act of death that was given to them. And for good reason, a complication occurred a few hours earlier would have been fatal for the child.

With death in her soul, the family took the necessary steps to remove the body from the morgue and bury it according to custom. But to their astonishment, they found that the child was still breathing. The child was then rehired in intensive care. The explanations provided by the persons in charge of this service did not convince the family who lodged a complaint. Prosecutions will be initiated with the testimony of staff members who said that the newborn had been severely neglected by a pediatrician.

These cases are recurrent in Morocco, especially in public hospitals in Rabat. The scandal of newborns mistakenly vaccinated at a maternity hospital provoked an uproar throughout the country.
