RDC : Fayulu condamne un 'coup d'État constitutionnel'

L’opposant Martin Fayulu s’est déclaré “seul président légitime” et a demandé dimanche à la communauté internationale de ne pas reconnaître l’autre opposant Félix Tshisekedi, officiellement proclamé vainqueur de l‘élection présidentielle en République démocratique du Congo.

“Je me considère désormais comme le seul président légitime de la République démocratique du Congo”, a déclaré M. Fayulu juste après le rejet de son recours et la proclamation de la victoire de son adversaire par la Cour constitutionnelle.

“Dès lors, je demande au peuple congolais de ne pas reconnaître tout individu qui se prévaudrait illégitimement de cette qualité, ni obéir aux ordres qui émaneraient de lui”, a-t-il lancé, revendiquant la victoire avec 60% des voix.

“Je demande par ailleurs à l’ensemble de la communauté internationale de ne pas reconnaître un pouvoir qui n’a ni légitimité ni qualité légale pour représenter le peuple congolais”, a-t-il ajouté.

M. Fayulu a appelé les Congolais à organiser “des manifestations pacifiques sur toute l‘étendue du territoire national” pour protester contre la décision de la Cour constitutionnelle.

“Ce n’est ni plus ni moins qu’un coup d’Etat constitutionnel car il porte à la magistrature suprême un non-élu”, a-t-il insisté.

“Par cet arrêt, la Cour constitutionnelle vient une fois de plus de confirmer qu‘à l’instar de la Commission électorale, elle est au service d’un individu et d’un régime dictatorial qui ne respecte ni les lois de la République ni les règles les plus élémentaires de la démocratie et de la morale”, a-t-il dit, visant le président sortant Joseph Kabila.

M. Fayulu accuse M. Tshisekedi d‘être “totalement complice” d’un “putsch électoral” organisé par le président sortant Kabila.

M. Tshisekedi devra cohabiter avec un Premier ministre issu de l’actuelle majorité pro-Kabila qui a largement remporté les élections législatives d’après les résultats de la Commission électorale.

The opponent Martin Fayulu declared himself "only legitimate president" and asked Sunday the international community not to recognize the other opponent Felix Tshisekedi, officially proclaimed winner of the presidential election in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

"I now consider myself the only legitimate president of the Democratic Republic of the Congo," Fayulu said just after the rejection of his appeal and the proclamation of his opponent's victory by the Constitutional Court.

"Therefore, I ask the Congolese people not to recognize any individual who would illegitimately claim this quality, nor obey the orders that emanate from him," he said, claiming victory with 60% of the vote.

"I also ask the entire international community not to recognize a power that has neither legitimacy nor legal standing to represent the Congolese people," he added.

Fayulu called on the Congolese to organize "peaceful protests across the country" to protest against the ruling of the Constitutional Court.

"It is neither more nor less than a constitutional coup because it brings to the supreme magistracy a non-elected," he insisted.

"By this judgment, the Constitutional Court has once again confirmed that, like the Electoral Commission, it is at the service of an individual and a dictatorial regime that respects neither the laws of the Republic nor the most basic rules of democracy and morality, "he said, targeting outgoing President Joseph Kabila.

Fayulu accuses Tshisekedi of being "totally complicit" in an "electoral coup" organized by outgoing President Kabila.

Mr. Tshisekedi will have to live with a prime minister from the current pro-Kabila majority, who has largely won the parliamentary elections according to the results of the electoral commission.
