La police ouvre une enquête sur un incendie qui a laissé plus de 50 corps incendiés dans une morgue dans l'État d'Anambra

Le commandement de la police de l'État d'Anambra a ouvert une enquête afin de déterminer la cause de l'incendie qui a brûlé certains cadavres à la morgue de l'hôpital général d'Enugwu-Ukwu, dans le gouvernement local de Njikoka.

L'incident s'est produit vers 17h40. le samedi 29 décembre. Le responsable des relations publiques de la police de l'État, M. Haruna Mohammed, a confirmé l'incident.

«L'équipe de patrouille de police, dirigée par l'officier de police divisionnaire responsable de la division de police de Nimo, le CSP Benjamin Egu, à son arrivée sur les lieux, a contacté le service des incendies, qui a ensuite éteint l'incendie avec l'aide de volontaires locaux.

Cependant, l'incendie a provoqué d'importants dégâts dans le bâtiment, car presque tous les corps de la morgue ont été brûlés sans aucune reconnaissance. La cause de l'incendie est toujours inconnue, mais une enquête est en cours pour déterminer les circonstances entourant l'incident ».

The Anambra State police command has launched an investigation to unravel the cause of the fire that burnt some corpses at the mortuary of the General Hospital in Enugwu -Ukwu in Njikoka Local Government.  

The incident occurred at about 5:40 p.m. on Saturday Dec 29th. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident.

He said: “Police patrol team, led by the Divisional Police Officer in-charge of Nimo Police Division, CSP Benjamin Egu on arrival at the scene, contacted fire Service department, which later put out the fire with the help of local volunteers. 

However, the fire caused extensive damage in the building as almost all the corpses at the mortuary were burnt beyond recognition. The cause of the fire incident is still unknown but the case is under investigation to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident”.
