Canelo Alvarez élimine Rocky Fielding de Liverpool au troisième tour

Samedi soir, Canelo Alvarez s'est lancé férocement à l'encontre de Rocky Fielding et l'a assommé au troisième round de leur combat pour le titre des super-moyens dans un Madison Square Garden complet.

Alvarez a renversé Fielding une fois chacun avec des crochets gauches au corps lors des premier et deuxième tours, et deux fois au troisième tour une fois avec la main droite à la tête et à nouveau avec un crochet gauche au corps.

L’arbitre Ricky Gonzalez a mis fin au combat à 2:38 du troisième round, immédiatement après le quatrième renversement. Le Mexicain Alvarez (51-1-2, 35 KO), favori parmi les favoris 15-1, a remporté le titre mondial des super-moyens WBA face à l’Anglais Fielding (27-2, 15 KO).

Alvarez, 28 ans, s'est battu pour la première fois à la limite des super-poids moyens de 168 livres. Fielding, 31 ans, a exclusivement concouru chez les poids moyens et les poids lourds légers (175 livres) tout au long de ses huit années de carrière professionnelle.

Alvarez est devenu techniquement champion dans une troisième catégorie de poids et a remporté le titre secondaire des poids super-moyens de la WBA auprès de Fielding.

On Saturday night, Canelo Alvarez viciously went after Rocky Fielding and knocked him out in the third round of their super middleweight title fight at a sold-out Madison Square Garden.

Alvarez knocked down Fielding once apiece with left hooks to the body in the first and second rounds, and twice in the third round once with a right hand to the head and again with a left hook to the body.

Referee Ricky Gonzalez stopped the fight at 2:38 of the third round, immediately following that fourth knockdown. Mexico’s Alvarez (51-1-2, 35 KOs), who went off as roughly a 15-1 favorite, won the WBA world super middleweight title from England’s Fielding (27-2, 15 KOs).

Alvarez, 28, fought for the first time at the super middleweight limit of 168 pounds. Fielding, 31, has exclusively competed at super middleweight and light heavyweight (175 pounds) throughout his eight-year pro career.
