RDC : Kamerhe et Tshisekedi sur le point de quitter la politique ?

Comme les autres signataires du texte relatif à une candidature unique de l’opposition à la présidentielle du 23 décembre en RDC, Félix Tshisekedi et Vital Kamerhe s‘étaient engagés à quitter la politique en cas de non-respect de cet accord.

Kinshasa, Luebo, Kisangani, Goma, Mbandaka, … Dans tous les coins et recoins et même hors de l’immense RDC, tout le monde ou presque en parle : la dénonciation par Félix Tshisekedi et Vital Kamerhe de l’accord de dimanche dernier à Genève désignant Martin Fayulu candidat commun de l’opposition à l‘élection présidentielle du 23 décembre.

Si les deux leaders de l’opposition disent avoir obéi à la volonté de leurs bases, de nombreux observateurs peinent en effet à comprendre le comment et le pourquoi de cette volte-face. Et chacun y va de son commentaire. « Manque de sérieux », « trahison du peuple congolais », « perfidie », etc. En tout cas, ce ne sont pas les qualificatifs qui font défaut aujourd’hui pour évoquer le revirement de Kamerhe et Tshisekedi.

Or, cet accord avait été conclu en présence de la Fondation Kofi Annan, représentée par son directeur, le Britannique Alan Doss. Et la Fondation ne s’est pas empêchée de rappeler à chaque signataire son engagement. Lundi, l’institution a publié dans différents organes la lettre d’engagement signée par chaque participant aux retrouvailles de Genève.

« Si je ne respecte pas mes engagements, je mettrai fin à ma carrière politique et je serai soumis à l’opprobre de la nation et à la sanction de mes pairs », avait écrit chaque signataire.

"Lack of seriousness", "betrayal of the Congolese people", "perfidy", etc. In any case, it is not the qualifiers that are lacking today to evoke the turnaround of Kamerhe and Tshisekedi.

However, this agreement was concluded in the presence of the Kofi Annan Foundation, represented by its director, the British Alan Doss. And the Foundation did not stop to remind each signatory of his commitment. On Monday, the institution published in various bodies the letter of commitment signed by each participant in the reunion of Geneva.

"If I do not respect my commitments, I will put an end to my political career and I will be subject to the stigma of the nation and the sanction of my peers," wrote each signatory.
