Thierry Henry signe un contrat de trois ans avec le FC Monaco

Après avoir débuté sa carrière à Monaco, Thierry Henry entamera sa carrière de manager au sein du club de Ligue 1 après avoir signé un contrat de trois ans pour devenir l’entraîneur-chef de Monaco.

Faisant cette annonce ce matin, Henry écrivait: «C’est avec une grande fierté que je suis ravi d’annoncer que j’ai accepté le poste de directeur de l’AS Monaco FC. J'ai eu la chance de recevoir des offres très attrayantes au cours des derniers mois, mais Monaco me touchera toujours.

Ayant débuté ma carrière dans le football avec ce grand club, il semble que ce soit le destin que je commence maintenant aussi ma carrière de manager. Je suis incroyablement excité d'avoir cette opportunité, mais maintenant, le travail acharné doit commencer. Je ne peux pas attendre

Auparavant, le Français de 41 ans était directeur adjoint de la Belgique. Il a débuté sa carrière à Monaco en 1994 sous la direction de l'ancien patron d'Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, avant de rejoindre la Juventus en 1999. Après seulement un an en Italie, il a signé pour les Gunners et a remporté deux titres en Premier League et deux Coupes FA en huit ans. Londres nord.

Vint ensuite à Barcelone où il remporta le triplé de La Liga, de la Copa del Rey et de la Ligue des champions en 2008-09. En 2010, il a signé pour le club de football de la Major League, Red Bulls, où il a passé cinq saisons et a également obtenu un prêt de deux mois à Arsenal début 2012.
 
Henry était un vainqueur de la Coupe du monde avec la France en 1998 et remportait le Championnat d'Europe deux ans plus tard, marquant 51 buts en 123 apparitions pour Les Bleus. Il a pris sa retraite de joueur en décembre 2014 pour travailler comme expert en télévision, avant de rejoindre le personnel des entraîneurs belges en 2016.

Having started his playing days with Monaco, Thierry Henry will now begin his managerial career with the Ligue 1 club as he has signed a three-year deal to become Monaco's head coach.

Making the announcement this morning, Henry wrote, 'It is with great pride that I am delighted to announce that I have accepted the position to become the manager of AS Monaco FC. I was fortunate to receive some very attractive offers over the last few months but Monaco will always be close to my heart.

Having started my footballing career with this great Club, its seems like fate that I will now begin my managerial career here too. Im incredibly excited to be given this opportunity but now the hard work must begin. Can’t wait'.

Before now, the 41-year-old Frenchman was Belgium's assistant manager. He started his career at Monaco in 1994 under former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, before joining Juventus in 1999.  After just one year in Italy, he signed for the Gunners and went on to win two Premier League titles and two FA Cups in eight years in north London.  

Then came a move to Barcelona, where he won the treble of La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League in 2008-09. In 2010 he signed for Major League Soccer side Red Bulls, where he spent five seasons and also had a two-month loan spell back at Arsenal in early 2012.  
 
Henry was a World Cup winner with France in 1998 and won the European Championship two years later, scoring 51 goals in 123 appearances for Les Bleus. He retired as a player in December 2014 to work as a television pundit, before joining Belgium's coaching staff in 2016.
