Contentieux électoral au Cameroun : le Conseil constitutionnel embarrassé ?

Depuis deux jours le Conseil constitutionnel examine les 18 recours en annulation partielle ou totale de la présidentielle du 7 octobre dernier. Mais, des requérants dénoncent plusieurs irrégularités dans le modus operandi de l’institution.

D’un réseau social à un autre, d’un hashtag à un autre, de blog en blog,….La nouvelle a déjà atteint tous les quatre coins et recoins de la planète. Cette nouvelle qui nous vient du Cameroun où le Conseil constitutionnel examine depuis le mardi 16 octobre dernier les requêtes en annulation partielle ou totale introduites par des candidats à la présidentielle du 7 octobre dernier.

Si 16 des 18 requêtes ont déjà essuyé une fin de non-recevoir, le Conseil constitutionnel semble peiner à livrer son verdict quant aux deux recours restants. Tant les débats semblent très houleux en raison sans doute de la pertinence des plaidoiries des avocats des partis de l’opposition parmi lesquels l’intraitable et irréductible, Michelle Ndoki.

Et ce ne sont pas les preuves qui manquent à cette membre du collectif des avocats de Maurice Kamto, un des candidats dont l’un des recours a été rejeté. « Elle a aussi relevé un écart entre le nombre d’inscrits dans certaines circonscriptions et le nombre d’inscrits sur Elecam, l’organe chargé d’organiser les élections. Dans tous les départements visés, dont le Dja-et-Lobo (sud) d’où Paul Biya est originaire, le vote est largement en faveur de M. Biya qui obtient 99 % des voix dans certaines localités », a écrit par exemple le site Afrikmag.com.

C’est sans doute à cause de son «  franc-parler » que l’avocate vient d‘être interdite d’accéder à la salle d’audiences. Selon la police, cette instruction venue de la hiérarchie s’explique par le fait que son client Maurice Kamto n’est pas pour l’instant concerné.

Il y a aussi que des opposants dénoncent l’injonction faite à la Cameroon radio television (CRTV), un organe de service public de diffuser en direct les audiences en cours. « Nous avons des informations disant que la Direction de la CRTV aurait interdit la diffusion du Live. Ce qui est une atteinte grave à la liberté d’information des citoyens. C’est scandaleux », s’est exclamé Joshua Osih, membre du Front social-démocrate (SDF,
